Rabbit and cousins walk over UFO Bridge in Bratislava on quiet Sunday afternoon…
ALSO SEE: Rabbit wanders around under bridge …
Great perspective shot!
Thanks! There is something really comforting and empowering about being around such immensely strange monumental constructions…
Just three days after you submitted this picture here, the bridge got renamed back to it’s original name: “Bridge of Slovak National Uprising”. It was known by this name between 1973-1993. In 1993, the bridge was renamed “New Bridge”, largely because the Slovak government, at that time, viewed the uprising against fascism as communist, despite historical facts today revealing that people holding many different ideologies united against a common enemy. In fact, by trying to pass the uprising as communist, they inadvertently agreed with the former communist regime, which for many years claimed that it were the Soviets alone who helped liberate Czechoslovakia, and that the Western allies played very little if no role.
