C+D+K @ Norman Rockwell Museum this Weekend!

Ahoj, I have been away from this blog for a little bit, but the book has been coming together, little by little…!

In the meantime, C+D+K will make an appearance at this weekend’s MINI-COMIC CON” at the lovely Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, USA.  I’m presenting on “how drawing comics connects artists and readers with people, history, and a sense of place,” featuring comics from this project and from my new NH history project.  We’ll also have a Comics Jam-style draw-a-thon using some paintings by exhibitors Rockwell & Ross as inspiration…

It all happens Saturday afternoon… if you’re in the MA area, stop in & say hi!

C+D+K in two new anthologies

Here are two recent comics anthologies featuring C+D+K excerpts; oddly enough, they are both about food and they both debut in time for harvest season:

SPROUTS
(Trees & Hills, 2012) features comics by creators in NH, VT, and western MA.  This sequel to their popular (and sold out) SEEDS antho includes several C+D+K pages about food & agriculture in Eastern Slovak towns.

DIGESTATE
(Birdcage Bottom Books, 2012) is an ENORMOUS tome full of luscious food-comics by artists from all over the place… I haven’t even had a chance to digest the entire book yet, but I salivate every time I see it there on my TO READ pile!  The C+D+K excerpt in this one is the SUCCESSFUL SLAUGHTER storyline (which has never appeared in its entirety on this site even).

Both these publishers deserve lots of credit for pulling together ambitious, creative anthology projects & getting them out to the public at this season’s Eastcoast indy conventions (SPXMICE)!

New C+D+K mini & growth of cabbages

A few weeks of autumn rains have brought out huby (mushrooms), along with new C+D+K mini-comic HUBYHUNT!which sprouted just in time for MICE last weekend!  This book tells about mushroom-hunting escapades of Rabbit & family in hills around town (it is follow-up story for SUCCESSFUL SLAUGHTER mini).
