Maps: Central Europe

Sometimes when I’m working on a longer piece and I run out of steam, it helps to draw maps.  (I drew this one over breakfast this morning, while NOT drawing a piece about Roma migration….)

Oh, so you like MAPS?  Well here’s a doozy of a map, this one taken from a high school history text book I found on my bookshelf:

Slovak homelands appear here as a tasteful gray polka-dot pattern.  Roma groups appear not at all.

I think the old Hapsburg “nationalities” would today be considered “ethnicities” within the European Union economic system…
