Primacialny palac

Another page from the street sketchbook…

Note the C and I on wires held by cherubs over the doorway.  I am told Austrian Empress Maria Theresa used them as symbols for her reign… They are supposed to stand for Knowledge and Justice, and their graphic equivalents (barely visible in the mosaic atop) are the book and the sword.

Primacialny Palac also houses the famous Hall of Mirrors.

  1. I am such a fan of your street sketchbook pieces. Keep it up, Marek. Just out of curiosity, are you penciling first on an image like this, or just starting with ink on paper?

    Go, Marek, Go! 🙂

    • Ďakujem pekne RC… My approach is simply to walk around until a view presents itself, then to sit and draw with ink on paper. I don´t have any pencils on this trip! When the page is full I get up and walk away and look at it later.
