One of these postcards is doing its own thing

One of my colleagues gave me a wonderful set of tourism postcards from Sabinov (A.K.A. “Oscar City”, A.K.A. “Head on a Plate Town”). Here are some samples, showing the scenic beauty of the village… But wait, can you spot the “odd man out” here?

  1. I think it’s Santiago( St. James) promoting his Camino, the pilgrimage tour to Santiago de Compostela, Spain.(Note scallop shell on cap) I don’t know much about the routes through Slovakia but it’s possible Sabinov was a stop on one of the routes through Eastern Europe. Santiago de Compostela was the most popular pilgrimage site in Europe ~1,000 AD, more visited than Rome and Jerusalem. The trip from Sabinov would be quite a walk.
